Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) Awards

MSSS

Awards are given annually at the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium provincial fair to students whose posters are directly related to the benefit of women's health issues. Since 1996, the WHRFC has provided Special Awards annually for the Best Project In Women’s Health at the MSSS, to help raise awareness of women’s health issues among Manitoba’s budding scientists. WHRFC Board Members, among them researchers from the University of Manitoba, have judged the science projects and have been impressed with their quality.

Eligibility

Students from across Manitoba participate in the MSSS, and all are eligible for these awards.  An award is available in each of the four MSSS school grade levels; 4-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12.

Amount of Award

Each award consists of  a Cheque for $50, a Certificate of Achievement and a Letter of Congratulations from the WHRFC.

Previous MSSS Recipients

Over the years, girls and boys from many schools in Winnipeg and other communities, urban and rural have taken home these awards. They have all expressed their enthusiasm for their research projects and for the opportunity to win the WHRFC awards.
